Core Beliefs

  1. The Bible as the Inspired Word of God

Pentecostals believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the foundation for faith and conduct.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16

  1. The Trinity

Pentecostals affirm belief in one God who exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” — Matthew 28:19

  1. Salvation through Jesus Christ

Salvation is a gift from God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again for our justification.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” — Ephesians 2:8

  1. Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Pentecostals believe in a distinct experience following salvation known as the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, often evidenced by speaking in tongues, empowering believers for service and holy living.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses…” — Acts 1:8

  1. Divine Healing

Pentecostals believe that healing is provided in Christ’s atonement and is available to believers today through prayer and faith.

“By his wounds we are healed.” — Isaiah 53:5

  1. The Second Coming of Christ

Pentecostals believe in the imminent, personal return of Jesus Christ to earth — first to rapture His Church and later to reign in power and glory.

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven… and the dead in Christ will rise first.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16

ur Beliefs

  1. Prayer:

ICCMC is a praying church. Our prayer models are somewhat different from those of many charismatics. Under certain circumstances, we may offer corporate or congregational prayers. Our prayers are modelled around what Jesus prescribed.

When you pray: Matt 6:5-6

Prayer is a spiritual activity that comes from within. It must always be for the edification of both the one praying and the one being prayed for.

While we encourage congregational prayers, it must be in a language that everyone understands, according to Paul in 1 Corinthians 14:2-19

“ 2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. 3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. 4 Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church. 5 I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.

9 Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air. 10 Undoubtedly there are all sorts of languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning. 11 If then I do not grasp the meaning of what someone is saying, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and the speaker is a foreigner to me. 12 So it is with you. Since you are eager for gifts of the Spirit, try to excel in those that build up the church.

13 For this reason the one who speaks in a tongue should pray that they may interpret what they say. 14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 15 So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding. 16 Otherwise when you are praising God in the Spirit, how can someone else, who is now put in the position of an inquirer, say “Amen” to your thanksgiving, since they do not know what you are saying? 17 You are giving thanks well enough, but no one else is edified.

18 I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. 19 But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.

The use of Anointing Oil

  • Healing and deliverance:
In James 5:14-15, the elders are instructed to anoint the sick with oil and pray for their recovery, suggesting anointing as a means of seeking God’s healing and comfort.
  • Joy and Gladness:
  • Oil is also associated with joy, gladness, and blessing in the Bible.
  • Anointing with oil can symbolize celebrating God’s blessings and expressing gratitude for His goodness.
  • The use of the Rosary
  • The cross is a sign of victory over death and destruction
  • The name and image attract an environment of victory into it
  • When worn, it symbolically signifies and enforces the victory of Christ.

The burning of incense

  • Exodus 30:7-9: Instructions for burning incense on the altar of incense.
  •
  • Luke 1:8-27: Zacharias, the father of John the Forerunner, is offering incense in the Temple when the birth of John is announced.
  •
  • Revelation 5:8: The 24 elders worship the Lamb and hold golden bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
  •
  • Revelation 8:3-4: An angel is given much incense to offer with the prayers of the saints.

Generosity/Tithing

Tithing is an Old Testament biblical principle that has carried over into the Christian era. While the motive is laudable, its application has been discredited immensely. In our ministry, God inspired me to introduce the concept of generosity instead of tithing. Generosity means giving out of your heart and not according to a commandment or law. In generosity, we don’t give only money; we give anything useful to another person. We gather all the gifts and send them to where they are most needed. We do not collect tithes for one person’s use, absolutely not. Rev Daniel (Founder)

Spiritual gifts

The church believes in, pursues, and administers all the spiritual gifts mentioned in the Bible. While we desire spiritual gifts, they are ultimately given by the Holy Spirit of God. We believe that we must not profit from the use of spiritual gifts. 1Cor 14: 1

Marriage:

The church teaches one man, one wife. Marital process must embrace both the traditional and Christian methods.

Naming ceremonies

The church encourages and practices baby naming ceremony and baby dedication. Our practice is rooted in scriptures:

Luke 2:22-46

We believe in….

  • The Sovereignty and Grace of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit in Creation, Providence, Revelation, and Final Judgment.

  • The divine inspiration of the Holy Scripture and its consequent entire trustworthiness and Supreme Authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

  • The universal sinfulness and guilt of fallen man, making him subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.

  • The substitutionary sacrifice of the incarnate Son of God as the sole and all-sufficient ground of redemption from the guilt and power of sin and from its eternal consequences. The justification of the sinner is solely by the Grace of God through faith in Christ crucified and risen from the dead.

  • The firm belief and biblically supportive that the death and resurrection of Christ has wiped out in its entirety every debt we owe to God Almighty and is now replaced with the permanent debt of love for one another. So that we can boldly say without reservation that there is no outstanding physical or material debt between us and our Creator, neither daily nor weekly neither monthly or yearly for all generations to come as the scripture clearly testifies, but only obedient walk humbly with Him and praising His Name (see Hosea 6:6; James1:27; Hebrews 13:15-16; Matthew 25:37-40; Romans 13:8-10; Colossians 2:14; Galatians 2:5-7; 2 Corinthians 9:7-15).

  • The illuminating, regeneration, indwelling and sanctifying work of God the Holy Spirit, the Priesthood of all believers, who form the Universal Church, the body of which Christ is the Head and which is committed by His command to the proclamation of the Gospel throughout the world (1 Peter 2:9-10).

  • The expectation of the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and Glory, we believe in the fact that God uses instruments, or symbols to deliver people (e.g. Numbers 21:8-9; John 3:14-15) and the Almighty still has genuine people walking on this world who ARE still doing His bidding and should be trusted in the Christian family (e.g. Hebrews 11:5 etc).
